About Us
Many elderly residents who live in nursing homes have unmet eye care needs. Undetected eye diseases such as glaucoma, cataract, diabetic retinopathy, and macular degeneration are chronic and common. Vision loss and blindness can often be prevented with regular examinations and treatments.
Our onsite routine eye health services begin with an interview of the resident (if possible) regarding any current vision issues/concerns.
Our doctors focus on the five most common vision-related problems that regularly occur in the elderly. These problems include;
- cataracts
- diabetic retinopathy
- glaucoma
- age-related macular degeneration and
- dry eyes
For over 4 decades Outreach Eye Care has provided vision services to residents with dementia and behavioral health challenges, something that informs our sensitivities and care approaches.
