Our doctors are highly trained in adult and pediatric vision care. You can be certain that you will receive the most comprehensive vision care possible in a warm and professional environment.

We provide routine and preventative care through comprehensive and developmental vision examinations.

Furthermore, our doctors understand how vision problems impact patient’s social, occupational, educational, and recreational endeavors. Our recommendations lead to resolution of vision problems utilizing the following:

  • Corrective glasses
  • Contact lenses including custom contact lens designs
  • Myopia control
  • Orthokeratology
  • Stress-relieving glasses, computer office lenses
  • Low vision devices including glasses, telescopes, microscopes and magnifiers
  • Vision rehabilitation for head injury, concussion, and stroke

One of our main goals is providing annual vision examinations in order to follow vision development, detect early signs of eye and systemic diseases and intervene to prevent vision loss. This type of vision care is possible when patients commit to continuous and regular care with the same doctors.

Our offices provide expert optical services, including on-site finishing of prescription glasses. We are mindful of out patients’ optical needs and desires when choosing our frames. Most importantly, our optical staff excels at recommending the proper lens and frame to meet the patient’s visual needs.

Tribute to Dr Sandy Cohen.

Dr Sanford “Sandy” R. Cohen, OD FCOVD, began practicing optometry in 1979 after graduating with a Doctorate of Optometry at the Pennsylvania College of Optometry.

He earned his fellowship in developmental optometry from the College of Optometrists in Vision Development (FCOVD) in 1985. Since 1981 he has been in private practice with me, his clinical partner and wife (Jacalyn R. Ely, OD).

Together, we offered family vision care through a developmental behavioral approach. In addition to his passion for optometry, Sandy was an avid cyclist and maintained a healthy lifestyle.

Sadly, he was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer in 2019. He was devoted to his patients and enjoyed his practice in optometry, working gladly until the end of his life.

He was an excellent clinician and took pride in solving challenging vision problems. He changed the trajectory of the lives of many of his patients (as many patients have shared their stories with me).

I know that he was beloved by his patients, and that he loved them right back.

Thanks to all of his patients that have reached out to me and our staff and for kind words.
