Cynthia Matyas OD, MSc
Dr. Matyas has always had a keen interest in vision and learning. She graduated from the School of Optometry at the University of Waterloo in 1986. Then, she completed a Vision Training Residency at SUNY School of Optometry in New York City.
Dr Matyas obtained a M.Sc. degree in Kinesiology, also at University of Waterloo, studying visual motor integration. Dr. Matyas offers in-office Vision Training or Vision Therapy at her practice.
Dr. Matyas and Associates perform eye exams to provide spectacle prescriptions for all your visual needs. You receive an ocular health evaluation where we check for red eyes, cataracts, glaucoma, macular degeneration, and other conditions associated with systemic diseases.
Dr. Matyas, a developmental optometrist, examines how your visual system functions. Of the many visual skills you have, she determines your areas of strength and weakness. To improve functioning, she designs vision therapy programs for patients with learning related vision disorders, binocular problems and post-concussion vision difficulties, and prescribes spectacles with consideration for both central and peripheral visual systems.
