    Dr. Silva Hamade is a Dearborn Heights native who is proud to provide advanced, patient-centered eye care to her hometown community. After graduating from Fordson High School, she earned her Bachelor of Science in Biology from George Mason University and her Doctor of Optometry degree from The Ohio State University in 2019.

    She spent several years practicing in a medical-surgical setting in Louisiana, where she gained hands-on experience managing complex eye conditions and working alongside surgeons. During that time, she also created a low vision program, traveling to underserved areas to provide specialized care to patients in need.

    Dr. Hamade is especially passionate about retinal disease and low vision care, with a strong focus on preserving vision through early detection and proactive treatment. She believes eye care should go beyond simply prescribing glasses and is committed to helping patients protect their vision for life.

    As a bilingual provider offering care in English and Arabic, Dr. Hamade values building strong connections with her patients. Outside of work, she enjoys spending time with her husband, their two children, and her extended family.

    I genuinely don’t know if I can put into words what Dr. Silva did for me, but she deserves every bit of recognition for the kind of doctor she is. For 16 years, I avoided going back to an eye doctor. After a traumatic experience with LASIK, I was left dealing with issues that significantly affected my quality of life, and the thought of having my eyes evaluated again gave me so much anxiety that I simply learned to live with them, even though they were truly debilitating. Walking into Dr. Silva’s office changed that and I mean it from the bottom of my heart when I say she changed my life. Her thorough examination, evaluation, diagnosis, and treatment addresses more than just an eye condition, she provided me with solutions to things that were effecting my career, my personal life, my every minute of every day. I’m emotional even typing this. From the moment I arrived, I felt completely at ease. Her office is beautiful, thoughtfully designed, and incredibly calming—it feels more like a space created around the patient experience than a typical medical office. But as impressive as the space is, Dr. Silva herself is what makes this practice so exceptional. She is truly brilliant at what she does. I came in with 16 years’ worth of questions, concerns, and honestly, a lot of fear. She listened to every single one of them with patience and genuine compassion. She never made me feel rushed or dismissed, and she had an explanation and an answer for everything I asked. You can immediately tell how passionate she is about her work and how deeply she understands it. There is something incredibly reassuring about being cared for by someone who is not only exceptionally knowledgeable, but who genuinely cares about making sure you understand what is happening and feel comfortable every step of the way. I walked in carrying years of anxiety and problems I had essentially accepted as something I would just have to live with. I walked out feeling relieved, reassured, and, for the first time in 16 years, like I finally had answers and solutions. I cannot overstate what that meant to me. Dr. Silva genuinely changed my life. And somehow, on top of being an incredible doctor, she has curated the most beautiful selection of eyewear. The frames are stylish, current, and unlike the typical selection you find at most offices, with gorgeous designer and name-brand options that actually make you excited to wear glasses. It is rare to find a physician who combines this level of intelligence, skill, compassion, patience, and genuine passion for what she does. Dr. Silva is one of those rare people who is exactly where she is meant to be. After being afraid of eye care for longer than I care to admit, I can say without hesitation that I would trust her completely with my eyes and would recommend her to absolutely anyone. If you are looking for an eye doctor, this is where you want to be. Five stars honestly don’t feel like enough. Having access to her is an absolute privilege and luxury. God Bless her and her team.
