Dr. Brett R. Arnold was part of the honors program at Ferris State University, studying vision science. He later received his doctorate from the Michigan College of Optometry, where he completed clinical rotations at the Grand Rapids Veteran Hospital, Eyecare Associates of Lee’s Summit Missouri, and Duane Waters Hospital in Jackson, MI. He specializes in primary care optometry with a focus on contact lens fitting, including multifocal and astigmatism correcting lenses, pediatric eye care, and dry eye management. Outside of the office, Dr. Arnold enjoys staying active outdoors and catching shows at the local comedy clubs.

Dr. John P. Jacobi attended Michigan’s College of Optometry, Ferris State University, receiving his doctorate in 1988. Following graduation, he was accepted as an associate and then as a partner at Suburban Eye Care. He served as President of the Optometric Institute and Clinic of Detroit, a non-profit mission to offer healthcare to our inner city for 8 years. Dr. Jacobi has also successfully treated many children and adults with vision-related learning problems for the last 20 years. He understands the delays in the development of skill and teaches how to maintain a child’s attention through eye coordination, visualization, and eye movements. His goal is to ensure the development of the whole child and is a “Mom Approved” doctor.

Dr. Kayla Smith completed her Bachelor of Science in Biology at Ferris State University in Big Rapids, Michigan where she also was a varsity member of the Ferris State University cross country and track team. She received her Doctorate of Optometry from University of Missouri Saint Louis in 2019. Dr. Smith completed a one-year post-doctorate residency at The Optometry Center for Vision Therapy in Austin, Texas, where she specialized in developmental optometry, pediatrics, traumatic brain injury, and vision therapy and rehabilitation. In addition, she worked directly with patients, one-on-one, on their vision therapy programs. Dr. Smith is a member of the College of Optometrists in Vision Development (COVD), American Optometric Association (AOA), and American Academy of Optometry (AAO). She is also a participating provider in the InfantSEE program through the AOA. In her free time, Dr. Smith loves reading, running, camping, hiking, traveling, and spending time with her family and friends.
