Here at The Vision Development Team, it is our goal to make sure that our patients have the vision skills needed to meet the rigorous demands of school, work, and sports. Optimal vision encompasses more than 20 different skills! We train VISION beyond 20/20 eyesight.
Vision problems can be due to inefficient eye teaming skills, reduced eye focusing skills, or inadequate visual processing skills. We are here to help with these skills! Athletes can also benefit from vision training. Dr. Alexandar Andrich & Dr. Angelina Cerny will help you train your eyes to work better and faster to improve your game.
Our dedicated and knowledgeable staff will work with you and customize a vision training program based on your specific needs. We will be sure to discuss your program with you and address any concerns you may have. During your sessions, you will experience a multi-sensory approach to vision skill development.
Alexandar Andrich, OD, FCOVD
Dr. Alexandar Andrich is an accomplished graduate of The Ohio State University College of Optometry and a Fellow of the College of Optometrists in Vision Development. He is an acclaimed lecturer on the topics of pediatric/infant vision, binocular vision disorders, neuro-optometric rehabilitation, learning-related vision disorders, sports vision, and nutrigenomics related to ocular health and overall well-being.
In addition to providing Vision Therapy, Sports Vision, and Neuro-Optometric Vision Services, Dr. Andrich and his wife Patti, founded The Vision Development Team, a multi-location internationally recognized training center for providing high-level optometric testing accompanied by therapeutic interventions to improve visual functions and elite performance training for the competitive athlete.
Dr. Andrich has served on the staff in the Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation departments at University Hospitals Parma Medical Center and MetroHealth. Dr. Andrich is a co-founder and immediate past president of ISVA (International Sports Vision Association), representing over 14 countries. ISVA provides training to doctors, coaches, and athletic trainers world-wide in the field of sports vision.
Additionally, Dr. Andrich is the team optometrist and performance vision coach for the Cleveland Guardians baseball team, Cleveland Monsters hockey team, and other professional and amateur athletes. He is professionally involved with several state, national, and international organizations. When he is not busy serving others with his optometry passions, you can find him enjoying time with his family, skiing, and mountain biking.
Angelina Cerny, OD, FCOVD
A graduate of The Ohio State University College of Optometry, Dr. Cerny has completed an Ocular Disease externship at the White River Junction, Vermont VA hospital where she diagnosed and managed cataracts, glaucoma, macular degeneration, retinal disease, as well as other various ocular pathologies. Dr. Cerny has received several honors and awards, among them is The Patient Care Excellence Award presented by The Ohio State University. Prior to Optometry Degree, Dr. Cerny gained professional experience as a Vision Therapist and Optometric Technician through her work at Professional Vision Care, in Columbus, Ohio. Dr. Cerny is a valued team member with The Vision Development Team. Her primary area of specialty is Orthokeratology. She has had great success working in the area of myopia control in the pediatric population and enjoys working with children.
Joseph Schwartz, OD, FCOVD
Dr. Joseph Schwartz graduated from SUNY College of Optometry in 2012. He received the Frederick Brock Memorial Award for outstanding clinical performance in vision training. For over a decade, he has been an integral part of the Ezra Medical Center Optometry Department in Brooklyn, NY. In 2017 Dr Schwartz completed his fellowship for the College of Optometrists in Vision Development (COVD). He also mentored many optometry students while serving as an adjunct assistant clinical professor for SUNY College of Optometry.
Dr. Schwartz specializes in pediatric eye care and vision therapy. He is passionate about treating binocular vision disorders which can lead to academic difficulties, using therapeutic lenses and vision therapy. Dr. Schwartz is relocating to Beachwood, Ohio, with his family. He is excited to bring his expertise and passion for pediatric optometry to the Beachwood community, where he aims to make a positive impact on the visual function of his patients.
