Dr. Alice Sun, O.D.
Studied at New England College of Optometry in Boston and the University of California, San Diego
Dr. Alice Sun is a therapeutic optometrist with glaucoma certification and is trained in the treatment and management of eye diseases, specialty contact lenses, pediatrics, and preoperative and postoperative care of patients.
Dr. Sun earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Biochemistry and Cell Biology from the University of California, San Diego. While in San Diego, she volunteered at multiple hospitals in the area and participated in medical trips to El Salvador to assist underprivileged communities abroad. During her travels, Dr. Sun discovered her true passion and decided to pursue a career in optometry, earning her Doctorate from the New England College of Optometry. She is also a current member of the American Optometric Association and the California Optometric Association.
Dr. Sun considers herself a true Southern California woman and enjoys exploring Los Angeles for new and exciting cuisines. She enjoys practicing yoga, hiking, and playing the piano. In her early career, Dr. Sun practiced in Beverly Hills, where she developed close professional relationships with top experts and ophthalmologists.
Dr. Daniel Sjolund, O.D.
Studied at New England College of Optometry in Boston and the University of St. Thomas in Minnesota
Dr. Daniel Sjolund is a therapeutic optometrist with glaucoma certification and trained to treat a wide array of eye diseases. Dr. Sjolund was raised in Minnesota and received his Bachelor of Science degree with honors in Biochemistry from the University of St. Thomas.
He continued to complete a Doctorate from the New England College of Optometry and has practiced optometry throughout Massachusetts, Minnesota, and California. Dr. Sjolund is a current member of the American Optometric Association and is skilled in low vision, pediatrics, and the surgical co-management of LASIK and cataracts.
Dr. Sjolund has resided in Southern California for several years. He enjoys photography, martial arts, and music composition.
Dr. Matthew Thornton, O.D.
Studied at Nova Southeastern University College of Optometry in Davie, Florida and the University of Florida
Dr. Matthew Thornton is a therapeutic optometrist with glaucoma certification and is trained to treat and manage a multitude of eye diseases.
Dr. Thornton was born and raised in South Florida and received his Bachelor of Science in Applied Physiology and Kinesiology from the University of Florida. He then continued his education at Nova Southeastern University College of Optometry graduating with honors. He completed rotations in pediatrics, specialty contact lens fitting, low vision, and ocular disease.
His hobbies include weight lifting, keeping freshwater fish, a little gaming, hiking in the California hills, and rock climbing. Dr. Thornton is pleased to now be in California and looks forward to serving the patients in Southern California.
Dr. Kathleen Phan, O.D.
Studied at Southern California College of Optometry and California Lutheran University
Dr. Kathleen Phan graduated from Southern California College of Optometry and completed her undergraduate studies at California Lutheran University with a B.S in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology.
Dr. Phan is experienced in managing complex ocular diseases after completing residency in ocular disease and primary eye care at the Sierra Vista Veteran Clinic. She will ensure each patient understands his or her particular condition and will make sure her patient's individual visual needs are met. Dr. Phan is interested in being part of a private optometric practice in order to provide high-quality, exceptional, and personalized eye care for her patients.
She uses her free time to hike with her German Shepherd and Bernedoodle, spend time with her family, and experience new foods.
Grace Kim, O.D.
Studied at Illinois College of Optometry in Chicago, Illinois
Dr. Grace Kim earned her Doctor of Optometry degree from the Illinois College of Optometry in her hometown of Chicago, graduating summa cum laude. Her academic excellence led to induction into both the Tomb and Key Honor Society and the Beta Sigma Kappa International Optometric Honor Society.
She completed her residency at the Sepulveda VA Ambulatory Care Center, where she specialized in primary eye care and the management of ocular diseases, with a focus on glaucoma, diabetic retinopathy, and macular degeneration.
Outside the clinic, Dr. Kim is a passionate foodie who loves discovering new restaurants, exploring LA’s scenic hiking trails, and traveling to new cities around the world.
