A dry eye specialist with deep experience in managing surgical referrals and treating eye emergencies, Dr. Shackelford provides compassionate, comprehensive care for patients of all ages across DeSoto County. After choosing to raise his five daughters in Desoto County, Dr. Shackelford built his practice on the same values he brings to his family-trust, attentiveness, and a commitment to doing what's right. Shackelford Family Eye Care offers a full range of services, from routine exams and pediatric vision care to advanced treatment for eye conditions and personalized contact lens fittings. Dr. Shackelford is very nice. Ordering glasses however, delay delay delay. 45 days later, still no glasses. When I call the Hernando office, no answer. Maybe change your vendor.

Dr. Shackelford is amazing!! I have been a patient of his since 2018 and he and his staff have always offered exceptional service. He really cares about your vision and will NOT rush you through like other optometrists I’ve visited. They only care about numbers. He will take the time to ensure your glasses and contacts are the best that can be had. Absolutely recommend!!!!

Dr. Shackelford is amazing!! I have been a patient of his since 2018 and he and his staff have always offered exceptional service. He really cares about your vision and will NOT rush you through like other optometrists I’ve visited. They only care about numbers. He will take the time to ensure your glasses and contacts are the best that can be had. Absolutely recommend!!!!

Dr. Shackelford is the best. Been going to him since I was a teen. I’m 31 now. Leigh is exceptional at what she does. I love her so much. Always super helpful and always helps me pick out the cutest glasses. All the girls are great, but she stands out. Always have. Dr. Shackelford is blessed to have her!!!! She makes sure everyone is taken care of. Never rushes the patients after being seen and getting their glasses and contacts. Gives all options available. Helps you pick out what fits you best whether it’s contacts, colored contacts, or glasses. Give this woman a raise !!!! Because of these two I will always be a customer at this place…..

This was my first eye doctor visit and i loved it. I love their selection for glasses and sadly i took my son somewhere else for his but next year he will be going here. Unlike others i enjoyed that they showed me my section and let me find mine on my own because when trying glasses on i wanted privacy, but when i had 3 picked out the lady was my stylist than and we both picked the ones we loved most on me. So i highly recommend. Great staff and atmosphere all around.

Dr. Shackleford and his staff were very friendly each time I went there .One year I broke my frames and was promptly seen and given a birthday discount.
