Dr. Calvin Habba is passionate about providing thoughtful, personalized care to patients across all stages of life. A Waterford native, he graduated from Waterford Kettering High School before earning early admission to the Michigan College of Optometry. He completed his bachelor’s degree in Vision Science after his first year and went on to graduate with honors as a Doctor of Optometry in 2024.

During his clinical training, Dr. Habba completed externships at the Detroit VA Medical Center, Normandy Optical, and the Eye Institute of West Florida. These rotations gave him strong hands-on experience in ocular disease, pediatric eye care, and specialty contact lenses — particularly for patients with hard-to-fit or complex vision needs.

Today, Dr. Habba provides comprehensive eye exams and medical vision care, including treatment for dry eye syndrome, cataracts, glaucoma, diabetic eye disease, and macular degeneration. His clinical approach is built on clear communication, thorough diagnostics, and a commitment to helping patients maintain long-term vision health.

He is an active member of the American Optometric Association, Michigan Optometric Association, and Volunteer Optometric Services to Humanity (VOSH). Outside the office, Dr. Habba enjoys spending time with family, kayaking Michigan’s lakes, and hiking the state’s many trails.

Where did you go grow up and go to University?

I grew up in Chesterfield, MI

I attended Regina High School.

I went to undergrad at Oakland University and graduated with a Bachelor of Science.

Do you have any accomplishments or accolades to share?

I graduated from the honors college at OU and was a Moceri Scholar.

What makes you passionate about being an eye care specialist?

I started wearing glasses at 3 years old and received individualized care which ultimately

inspired me to pursue a career in this field. My greatest goal is to help patients by giving

quality, compassionate, and individualized care like I received.

What is your favorite specialty in eye care?

I really loved my low vision rotation in optometry school!

Do you have something personal to share? Do you have a family or fur kids?

I am getting married in October to my high school sweetheart, Adam. We have a spunky

goldendoodle named Willow Bean who we love dearly! The three of us love to go hiking,

especially in the UP.

Do you have any hobbies outside of work that you enjoy?

I love to walk, play tennis, and crochet. Recently, I have started running, cross stitching and

home improvement projects.
