Dr. Kelsey Kaczmarek (Kowalski), O.D.
Location: West Bloomfield
Dr. Kelsey Kaczmarek brings a thoughtful, relationship-driven approach to every eye exam. Originally from a small town outside of Fargo, North Dakota, she knew from a young age that she wanted to become an optometrist. She studied Zoology and Pre-Optometry at North Dakota State University and was accepted early into the Michigan College of Optometry at Ferris State University. She earned her Bachelor of Vision Science during her first year of optometry school and later graduated with high distinction as a Doctor of Optometry in 2021.
During her externship year, Dr. Kaczmarek completed clinical training in primary care and ocular disease at the Saginaw VA Hospital, Henry Ford OptimEyes, and a multi-location private practice in Central Michigan. Today, she provides comprehensive eye care for patients of all ages, with special interests in managing conditions such as dry eye disease, glaucoma, cataracts, diabetic retinopathy, and macular degeneration. She’s known for her calm, patient-first approach and for creating care plans tailored to each individual’s visual needs and lifestyle.
Dr. Kaczmarek lives in Commerce with her husband, Dr. Mark Kaczmarek, and their cavapoo, Nora. Outside the clinic, she enjoys traveling to visit family across the U.S., relaxing on the water, playing competitive mini golf, and sampling her husband’s latest culinary creations.
