Dr. Anthony A. Sesto, O.D.
Locations: St. Clair Shores | Shelby Township | Rochester
Dr. Anthony Sesto brings a deep connection to the community and a passion for full-scope eye care. After graduating from South Lake High School, he earned his bachelor’s degree in biology/pre-optometry from Ferris State University and received his Doctor of Optometry from the Michigan College of Optometry, graduating with honors in 2016. During his clinical training, he completed rotations at Dorn V.A. Hospital in South Carolina and Duane Waters Hospital in Michigan, where he gained advanced experience managing ocular disease, keratoconus, low vision, and surgical co-management.
Before joining Normandy Optical, Dr. Sesto practiced in a multi-specialty ophthalmology setting, where he developed deep expertise in medical eye care, including the treatment and long-term management of glaucoma, diabetic eye disease, cataracts, dry eye, and macular degeneration. Today, he leads with that same clinical precision — offering comprehensive exams for patients of all ages and specializing in complex contact lens fittings, including scleral lenses for keratoconus, post-surgical corneal conditions, and severe dry eye.
Dr. Sesto also serves as an adjunct faculty member at the Michigan College of Optometry, where he mentors optometry residents in clinical settings. Residents often work alongside him in the office, contributing to a collaborative and educational care environment for patients.
His skill and reputation have earned him ongoing referrals from regional ophthalmology leaders, including Kresge Eye Institute, particularly for patients needing specialty lenses for corneal dystrophies, Sjögren’s syndrome, and graft-versus-host disease. Dr. Sesto is also an active member of the Michigan Optometric Association, the American Optometric Association, and multiple charitable organizations dedicated to advancing access to vision care.
Outside the office, Dr. Sesto enjoys time outdoors — golfing, boating, and spending weekends up north with his wife, Jessica, and their three young children: AJ, Juliet, and Maria.
