Maine Optometry- Lewiston

Dr. Achenbach completed his Bachelor of Science degree at Dalhousie University in Halifax, Nova Scotia, and his Doctorate of Optometry at The Pennsylvania College of Optometry. He graduated first in his optometric class and received honors of clinical excellence in contact lenses and pediatrics. After graduating, Dr. Achenbach trained at Chickasaw Indian Health Corporation and Yukon-Kuskokwim Health Corporation. He also completed his pediatric specialty rotation at The Eye Institute and a contact lens rotation at Broward Eyecare. After starting as an associate, Dr. Achenbach is now a partner at Maine Optometry.

After earning her bachelor’s degree from Castleton University, Dr. Murphy graduated from the Massachusetts College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences with a focus on the anterior segment, dry eye, and specialty contact lenses. Dr. Murphy’s externship rotation was with Northeastern Eye Institute, where she worked on complex scleral lens cases. She completed additional rotations at the Togus VA and Providence Community Health Center.

Dr. Almosawy holds a B.S. in Biology from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas, and earned his Doctor of Optometry (cum laude) from MCPHS University. He completed his residency in ocular disease at the Providence VA Medical Center.

He provides comprehensive eye care for patients of all ages, specializing in routine vision exams, ocular disease management, specialty contact lenses, and urgent eye concerns.
