Maine Optometry- Freeport

Dr. Young earned her bachelor’s degree from the University of New England and her doctorate from the Pennsylvania College of Optometry. She excelled academically throughout her time in optometry school, graduating summa cum laude and earning clinical honors during her third and fourth-year rotations.

Dr. Young has undergone specialized training at various renowned institutions, each focusing on different aspects of optometry. At The Eye Institute in Philadelphia, she focused on primary care and fitting specialty contact lenses. At New Hampshire’s Eyesight Ophthalmic Services, she concentrated on primary care and treating dry eye conditions. Moreover, she gained valuable experience throughout various Maine Optometry locations, where she received extensive training in ocular diseases, particularly emphasizing glaucoma, macular degeneration, and their implications on a patient’s overall systemic health.

Dr. Cousins completed her Bachelor of Science in biology at the University of Maine, Orono, before going on to attend Pacific University’s College of Optometry. As an optometry student, she was recognized for her vision therapy work, and received the COVD Excellence in Vision Therapy Award upon graduation. She found her passion for vision therapy by helping elementary school students improve their visual skills during after-school programs, and by serving her community by providing free eye care to those in need.

Dr. Pelletier received her Bachelor of Science in biology at St. Joseph’s College of Maine and then went on to earn her Doctor of Optometry degree at the New England College of Optometry in Boston. After graduating, she served as a civilian optometrist with the Department of Defense, where she helped patients at Fort Drum and Martin’s Point Health Center.

Dr. Broderick, a Dartmouth graduate, pursued her Optometry degree at the institution now known as Salus University. She joined Maine Optometry in June 1990, offering primary care and vision therapy. A respected figure in optometry, she’s a fellow of the American Academy of Optometry and former InfantSEE Leader in Maine, advocating for eye care as key to infant wellness, thereby enhancing pediatric vision and eye health.
