Hailing from Baltimore, Maryland, Dr. Harvey Mazer has called South Florida home since 1980. He has been practicing as a board-certified optometrist in the area ever since, first in the Miami area and later in Weston. Dr. Mazer’s first Weston practice, established in 1989, was the very first optometric office ever opened in Weston.

Dr. Mazer got his bachelor’s degree in psychology from the University of Maryland in 1975. He went on to study at the Pennsylvania College of Optometry, earning his doctorate from the institution in 1979. He completed his residency at the Southern California College of Optometry in Pediatric and Developmental Vision Care, and became a fellow of the College of Optometrists in Vision Development in 1984.

In addition to working with Dr. Kramer and Dr. Zubkousky at the Weston Contact Lens Institute, Dr. Mazer is also a consulting physician with the HealthSouth Sunrise Rehabilitation Hospital in Sunrise, Florida. Specifically, he works with patients who have suffered vision loss in the wake of strokes or head trauma.
