Dr. Danielle Baran, a Maryland native, completed her undergraduate education at the University of Maryland College Park, receiving a B.S. in Neurobiology & Physiology with a double major in Psychology. She was on the Dean’s List and a member of the Primannum Undergraduate Honor Society while attending the University of Maryland.

She continued her studies at the Pennsylvania College of Optometry, where she was selected for the Beta Sigma Kappa Honor Society. She graduated with the highest honors when receiving her Doctorate of Optometry in 2012. Dr. Baran earned clinical honors in her rotations in primary care optometry, contact lenses, and ocular disease/hospital rotations.

Dr. Baran is an active member of both the American Optometric Association as well as the Maryland Optometric Association. In her spare time, she enjoys the great outdoors, good music, and spending time with family and friends. She currently resides in Ellicott City with her husband and their cat, Monty.

Dr. Duan earned her Bachelor of Science degree from University of Kansas and received her Doctor of Optometry from State University of New York College of Optometry in New York City. She completed her residency program, focusing on primary care and ocular disease, at the Eye Institute of the Pennsylvania College of Optometry in Philadelphia. She has extensive experience and clinical training in ocular pathology management of glaucoma, cataracts, and corneal and retinal disorders, as well as in pediatric eye care, vision therapy, specialty contact lens fittings, emergency eye care, and pre and post-surgical management of cataract, corneal and refractive surgery. In addition, she is a regular presenter at national optometric meetings. Prior to joining Ellicott City Total Eye Care, she worked in multidisciplinary group practices in New York City, Northern Virginia and Baltimore County for many years. Dr. Duan is fluent in Mandarin Chinese. She resides in Howard County with her husband and two children.
