About Us
The Center specializes in the diagnosis of vision problems (Comprehensive Vision Evaluation) and provides Optometric Vision Therapy to improve these problems.
The Center serves the greater New York, Westchester County, Fairfield County, CT, and Northern New Jersey communities.
Together with our general optometry practice (Family Vision Care Associates, at the same location) we offer a complete range of eye examination and treatment services.
Our Team
Dr. Paul Bernstein, O. D., FCOVD
Dr. Paul is a Fellow of the College of Optometrists in Vision Development (COVD). He specializes in Behavioral Optometric evaluation and treatment (optometric vision therapy). He founded the Bernstein Center for Visual Performance in 2000 to emphasize the roles Comprehensive Visual Exams and Vision Therapy play in developing effective reading, writing, and learning experiences. His passion is helping people perform to their fullest innate potential in school, sports, business, and life in general through improved visual function.
Dr. Ira Bernstein, O. D., F.A.A.O., FCOVD
Dr. Ira founded our sister practice, Family Vision Care Associates, in 1960. He is also a Fellow of the College of Optometrists in Vision Development as well as being a Fellow of both the American Academy of Optometry and the New York Academy of Optometry. In addition to his general optometry practice, Dr. Ira is a pioneering specialist in Optometric Vision Therapy. He has spent more than 4 decades both practicing and teaching optometry and vision therapy.
