About Us
Welcome to Camelback Eye Care. Our practice has been serving the valley for over 50 years! We offer a personalized approach to eye care and take the time to get to know our patient's individual needs. Camelback Eye Care offers general eye health exams, contact lens and eyeglass exams, treatment of eye conditions like red eyes, glaucoma, diabetic eye exams, specialty contact lens fitting, and more. We have a unique selection of eyewear for every taste, and offer only the best in optical quality lenses.
Our Team
Dr. Dawn Heffelfinger, O.D., F.A.A.O.
Dr. Heffelfinger is a native of Phoenix and has been practicing in the Phoenix area since graduating with honors from the Southern California College of Optometry in 2000. Prior to that she graduated cum laude with a bachelor's degree in Zoology and minors in chemistry and Spanish from Northern Arizona University. Dr. Heffelfinger enjoys seeing all types of patients, but particularly enjoys working with children and infants. She is an active participant for InfantSEE, a nationwide program providing no-cost eye exams to infants. She is also a Fellow of the American Academy of Optometry.
Dr. Heffelfinger is board certified with the American Board of Optometry, one of the few optometrists in the state to hold this qualification.
In her free time, Dr. Heffelfinger enjoys spending time with her husband and two boys and going camping and hiking. She also has a weakness for rescuing dogs, and has three Siberian Husky rescues and a lab mix.
Dr. Evan Miller, O.D.
Dr. Miller is excited to join the practice and serve her hometown in Arizona. She earned her undergraduate degree in Health Sciences with an emphasis in community health outcomes from Arizona State University, and completed her Doctor of Optometry at Midwestern University Arizona College of Optometry.
Her comprehensive training includes primary eye care, contact lenses, and managing ocular diseases. She has a special interest in dry eye treatment and geriatric eye health, and is passionate about improving patients’ quality of life through personalized, compassionate care. Dr. Miller also values the important role that eyewear plays in both vision and expression of personal style.
Outside of the office, Dr. Miller enjoys attending concerts, exploring new places with her husband and two young children, and supporting local businesses. She is looking forward to giving back to the community that helped shape her.
