    Dr. Shawn Muldoon graduated from the University of Houston College of Optometry and now serves as an adjunct assistant professor at the Cornea and Contact Lens Service within the college. Due to his professorship within the university and his membership in the American Optometric Association, the Texas Optometric Association, and the Harris County Optometric Society, Dr. Muldoon is committed to remaining current on state of the art technology and procedures. Dr. Muldoon performs a number of different services, including eye examinations, optical frames dispensary, and dry eye/tear tests. He specializes in hard to fit contact lenses, ocular disease, laser vision correction, and primary care optometry. With a caring and friendly demeanor, Dr. Muldoon knows how to put patients at ease and make them feel well informed about their treatment. When he is not working, Dr. Muldoon enjoys cycling, soccer, and spending time with his family.

    He SAVED my eyes TWISE!!! Around 2016 or so, I contracted an incredible infection on my left eye. I for a moment believed I was going to lose that eye (or my sight if anything) due to the intensity of the pain, heaviness, inflamed and redness of the eye. Some weird white things (I don’t recall the exact medical term) were found near my cornea and decided to go see my eye doctor of 2 years, but he said he couldn’t do ANYTHING to help save my eye but give me normal eye drops and hope for the best. I was scared for my sight and lost hope. A co- worker referred me Briargrove Eye Center. I was skeptical at first because I had already visited countless eye doctors since childhood so I wasn’t fully convinced but the urgency push me to take that chance and set an appt. Appt process was smooth and hassle free. As I walked in, I immediately saw friendly smiles from Mrs. Marilu and rest of the staff and met with Dr. Muldoon. EVERYTHING changed. One visit, that’s all what it took to bring the healing I needed for my eye and the best part NO COSTLTY MEDICATION OR SURGERY he simply prescribed me REAL medication and followed up with me and within a few hours from taking the medication prescribed by him I felt amazing relief!!! I decided on that visit he would become my permanent EYE doctor; I found value in his practice and what his clinic represents. Two years later I contracted another horrible infection but on my right eye only this time I wasn’t scared or nervous about it, because I knew I had a professional, dedicated and medically well experienced Ophthalmologist who cared enough to take his time to treat my eye condition. So once again, he treated me and brought calm to me again. He saved my eyes TWISE!!! Why look anywhere else when you have all you need here. Dr. Muldoon is a special kind of doctor who makes you feel like family – always with a smile and a funny story to share just to make your eye appointment all the more pleasant. I just wish my dentist and MD had similar traits, it would just make my life easier and stress free! It's been almost 11 years NOW since that first eye appt and he continues to be authentic and compassionate. To say that Dr. Muldoon knows EXACTLY what he is doing, compassionate and highly professionally medically experienced is understatement. He is the kind of doctor I am willing to drive for over an hour just get treatment and annual appointments from thats for sure. Here is to many more years with Dr. Muldoon and his amazing team!!!
