Our Team
Dr. Virginia Donati, OD, FCOVD, COEP, FCCSO
Dr. Virginia Donati graduated from the Pennsylvania College of Optometry in 2006 with a citation for Clinical Excellence and the Student Award in Clinical Ethics from the American Schools and Colleges of Optometry (ASCO).
Since that time, Dr. Donati has been involved in the ongoing process of expanding Vision Therapy in Canada. She was the founding Vice President of Vision Therapy Canada (formerly COVT&R) and was President until 2021.
Dr. Donati lectures Internationally on the subject of binocular vision and Vision Therapy and is involved extensively in training. She is the lead instructor for VTC’s Practical Vision Therapy Accreditation Program (PVTAP) and is an instructor for the Optometric Extension Program (OEP).
Dr. Donati sits of the Board of Directors for the Ontario Association of Optometrists. She is certified through OEP’s Clinical Curriculum ad is double board certified in Vision Therapy as a Fellow in the College of Optometrists in Vision Development (COVD) and a Fellow in the Canadian College of Specialties in Optometry (CCSO).
Dr. Donati is a mother of three young children, and enjoys reading and crochet.
Dr. Vince Panzica, OD, BSc
Dr. Vince Panzica began practicing optometry in 1990 in the Brampton area.
Son of hard-working immigrant parents, Dr. Panzica grew up in Toronto and later in Woodbridge. His close ties with the Italian community and his fluency with the language have proven indispensable in his practice of optometry.
In 1994, Dr. Panzica moved to Bolton and launched the Bolton Optometry Clinic.Dr. Panzica graduated from the University of Waterloo with Honours Bachelor of Science and Doctor of Optometry degrees. He completed an internship at the Huronia Regional Centre working with physically and mentally challenged individuals.
Dr. Panzica is an associate of The Laser Centre (TLC) and provides counseling and co-management services. He is also an active member of the College of Optometry Quality Assurance committee.
Dr. Panzica believes that good eye health is critical to high-quality vision and that communication and quality are critical in a thorough eye examination.
Dr. Sylvia Heics, OD, BSc
Dr. Sylvia Heics has a passion for Vision Therapy and joined the Bolton Optometry Clinic in 2018, specifically to work with a strong team specializing in this area.
Dr. Heics did her clinical studies at the University of Waterloo, and ran a successful optometry practice in Toronto for 25 years.
She is known for her caring and detailed approach to providing vision care for her patients, and finds it particularly rewarding to help her patients develop to their fullest potential through vision therapy.
When Dr. Heics is not practicing Optometry, she can be found outdoors, gardening, paddling a canoe, or hiking.
Dr. Amrit Bilkhu, OD, FAAO
Dr. Bilkhu is from Brampton, Ontario. She graduated from the Illinois College of Optometry in 2019 where she was awarded Colleague of the Year, Clinical Honors Recognition, and the Dr. H.J. Luckhardt Memorial Scholarship.
She then completed a Vision Therapy and Rehabilitation residency at UC Berkeley School of Optometry. Throughout her residency education, Dr. Bilkhu managed patients with amblyopia, strabismus, binocular vision dysfunction, and visual perceptual challenges.
In addition, Dr. Bilkhu is the creator and co-host of the popular optometry podcast, Four Eyes. She interviews influential optometrists and ophthalmologists who are making a difference in the profession and highlights articles or resources that provide value to one's optometric clinical knowledge.
In her spare time, she enjoys watching comedy shows, traveling, and finding ‘hole-in-the-wall’ eateries!
Dr. Natasha Terzievski, OD B.Sc
Dr. Natasha Terzievski completed her Honours Bachelor of Science at the University of Toronto before graduating from the University of Waterloo School of Optometry and Vision Science in 2017 with her Doctor of Optometry degree.
During her Ocular Disease and Therapeutics Internship at Eye Centers of South Florida, she gained experience in treating a variety of eye conditions and working with numerous subspecialties in the field of eyecare.
Dr. Terzievski is certified by the Optometry Examining Board of Canada, and is a member of both the College of Optometrists of Canada and the Ontario Association of Optometrists. She is dedicated to her patients’ health and quality of life, and understands the important role that vision plays.
Dr. Terzievski enjoys working with patients of all ages and is grateful for the relationships she is able to build with her patients. She is committed to providing high quality eyecare and provides services ranging from laser refractive surgery co-management, myopia management, contact lens fittings, and management of a variety of eye conditions such as cataracts, macular degeneration, glaucoma, and diabetes-related ocular complications.
Outside of practising optometry, Dr. Terzievski enjoys spending time with her two children and her friends, travelling, hiking, and reading.
Dr. Michelle McKenzie (Retired), OD, BSc, FCOVD
Due to illness, Dr Mckenzie has retired from seeing patients at this time.
Dr. McKenzie is a graduate of the University of Waterloo. She holds Bachelor of Science and Doctor of Optometry degrees.
She completed an internship in Ocular Health with OMNI Vision Centre in Atlanta, Georgia and is TPA certified. Dr. McKenzie has a particular interest in binocular vision and neuro-rehabilitative optometry.
She enjoys working with students who have learning disabilities, individuals with strabismus and amblyopia and those who have suffered a traumatic brain injury.
Dr. McKenzie is a member of the Ontario College of Optometrists (COO), the Ontario Association of Optometrists (OAO) and is acting Vice President of Vision Therapy Canada (VTC). She has completed the curriculum of the Optometric Extension Program Foundation holds a Fellowship with the College of Vision Development.
Dr. McKenzie is also a member of The Neuro-Optometric Rehabilitation Association and the Ocular Nutrition Society.
Dr. Christine Chow, O.D.
Dr. Christine Chow graduated with her Doctor of Optometry on the Dean’s Honours List at the University of Waterloo.
She completed clinical externships in New Brunswick and Manitoba and was subsequently awarded the OSI Vision Entrepreneurship Award for her perspectives on independent optometry and rural access to care.
Dr. Chow’s interest in behavioural optometry eventually led her to join the Bolton Optometry Clinic team. She is an OEPF clinical associate and a member of the College of Optometrists in Vision Development and Vision Therapy Canada.
Above all, she considers herself a lifelong learner and can always be found furthering her education to maximize her patients’ quality of life.
Prior to optometry school, Dr. Chow obtained a Bachelor of Health Sciences in the Biomedical Discovery and Commercialization program at McMaster University, where she developed her appreciation for the bench-to-bedside process. She is passionate about inter-professional collaboration, improving access to care, and broadening the scope of optometric practice.
Outside of work, Dr. Chow is an avid reader, graphic design hobbyist, and supporter of the local arts & culture scene. She is excited to be serving patients in the Bolton and Newmarket communities.
