About Us

If your eyes see 20/20, can they still interfere with the ability to learn to read or read to learn? Most definitely they can, and 20/20 is only one very small measurement of the entire visual system. We have five times the sensory input to the brain from the visual system of any other sense that we have. In the vast majority of the states, the school “vision screening” involves looking at an eye chart twenty feet away. How much of the time is spent in a classroom looking twenty feet away when studying?

We are now doing so much more sustained near-point close work, yet the school screening does little to pick up people who are having difficulties seeing near print. Moreover, over 95 percent of people with vision-related learning disabilities see 20/20, so eyesight is not the problem.

Advanced Eyecare & Therapies is dedicated to making sure every patient's vision enhances their daily life. Unlike most optometrists who offer just comprehensive eye exams to patients throughout Spokane to screen for diseases and identify any eye abnormalities, our office is unique.

We help treat adults & children struggling with eye strain or reading problems as a result of an underlying visual problem, such as poor eye coordination & eye teaming skills. A subtle, undetectable vision problem can significantly impact your daily life & enjoyment. Learn more about Vision Therapy

Nutritional background: Completed training program by Dr. Alexander “Sande” Beddoe, DDS on the Reams Theory of Biological Ionization (RBTI)

Dr. Wylie and Bev, his bride for over 44 years, have called Spokane home since 1982. They did move their home over the border to Post Falls in 2022. They are now a 2 block bike ride to a pickleball court and have thoroughly been enjoying honing their skills this last year. Three of their four adult children live in the Spokane area and they enjoy seeing them regularly as well as love spending time with the three local grandchildren. Their oldest son and his wife and their three children moved a couple of years ago to Missouri and they look forward to visiting them a few times a year. They are keeping busy with their homesteading and running https://shop.heirloomsevermore.com/, their heirloom seed business. Dr. Wylie's trombone comes out a few times a year. The favorite event is the Perfection Nots volunteer marching band for the Couer d' Alene 4th of July parade. It is so fun to have those marching band juices kick in again from 3 years of being a Mighty Marching Pelican in Klamath Falls, OR only about 50 years ago!

Dr. Wylie's wife Bev plays the glockenspiel and son-in-law Tim plays trumpet. Check out their past appearances...
