Optometrists Network and its allied sites respects your privacy. Our staff, contractors and others who help us operate our web sites follow this policy on privacy and fair information practices for online activities of Optometrists Network and its allied sites.
Overview of our Policy
The security of personal information is a high priority at Optometrists Network and its allied sites. We maintain these web sites and all associated data with technical, administrative and physical safeguards to protect against loss, unauthorized access, destruction, misuse, modification and improper disclosure. Any information you voluntarily provide through email or the Directory helps us, and our third-party service providers, make Optometrists Network and its allied sites more informative, supportive, and useful for you.
Personal Identification Information
Throughout the Optometrists Network we will collect personal identification information from you only if you voluntarily submit such information to us. We will never intentionally disclose any personal identification information about you as an individual user (such as, for example, your full name, street address, telephone number, number or e-mail address) to any third party with the single exception of a one-time notice which is sent to the optometrist(s) you have voluntarily selected in Find a Doctor or the Directory.
Optometrist(s) selected and viewed by you in Find a Doctor or the Directory receive(s) one dated email notification that you have viewed his or her contact information. One email record each of your selection(s) will also be sent you at the personal email address which you enter into your form. These record(s) are sent to you as a courtesy only. Your receipt of such email message(s) does NOT indicate that you have been added to the Newsletter or mailing list.
If you identify yourself to us by sending us an e-mail with questions or comments, we may use your personal information to respond to your questions or comments. We may file your comments for future reference, or we may discard the information after we have reviewed it. As stated in the Terms and Conditions, "The data you enter on your form is collected so that Optometrists Network and its allied site may track activity, analzye public needs, and continue to create more effective content and useful public health services. The data you enter on your form is not sold, leased, or distributed to third parties, vendors, etc. in any form whatsoever. Optometrists Network and its allied sites do not sell, lease, share, or otherwise distribute mailing lists to third parties."
On the Internet, a "cookie" is a piece of information (a file) that a server transfers to a user's computer for tracking/reporting purposes. Please note that the only cookies used by Optometrists Network are Google Analytics cookies. Google Analytics cookies allow Optometrists Network to view anonymous reports on number of visitors, number of pages viewed, etc. We use this information to improve our patient education sites.

Changes to this Policy
Optometrists Network and its allied sites Sites offer email newsletters. Please join the newsletter in your appropriate section (based on your identity). Please do not sign up for more than one newsletter. In signing up to receive one of our newsletters, we currently ask only for your email address. We will use your email address only to send you the newsletter(s). [Subscription to email newsletters has been temporarily discontinued due to abuse of our system. Look for reinstatement of this free public service.]
Membership in the Optometrists Network is only available to qualified optometrists through an off-line registration process. Members of the public, occupational therapists, physical therapists, and teachers are invited to join the newsletter in their own section.
The Optometrists Network and its allied sites may also disclose personally identifiable information in cases when we have reason to believe that it is necessary to identify someone who may be violating Optometrists Network and its allied sitess Terms and Conditions or may be causing injury to Optometrists Network and its allied sites's rights or property, other users, or anyone else. The Optometrists Network and its allied sites may disclose personally identifiable information of our users to government authorities at our discretion.

Be aware that when you are on an Optometrists Network site, you will have the opportunity to visit, or link to, other sites associated with Optometrists Network and its allied sites.
