Kevin M. Chauvette, OD, FCOVD
Dr. Kevin M. Chauvette performed his undergraduate requirements at the University of New Hampshire (UNH) and St. Anselms College, Manchester, NH and graduated from New England College of Optometry in Boston, Massachusetts in 1989. He is a Fellow in the College of Optometry in Vision Development (COVD) and serves on the Board of Directors for the Neuro-Optometric Rehabilitation Association (NORA). He holds professional memberships in the American Optometric Association (AOA) and the New Hampshire Optometric Association (NHOA). Dr. Chauvette opened his private practice, Merrimack Vision Care in Merrimack, NH in September 1990. The first satellite office in Manchester was opened in November 2000.
Dr. Chauvette specializes in Pediatric Vision Care, Specialty care for children struggling academically, children with developmental disabilities (autism, cerebral palsy, etc), and is a specialist in the area of neuro-optometry. He is currently the Director of vision clinics at the following rehabilitation facilities: Healthsouth Rehabilitation Hospital, Concord, NH, Northeast Rehabilitation Hospital in Salem, NH, and Whittier Rehabilitation Hospital in Haverhill, Massachusetts. At these facilities, Dr. Chauvette evaluates and treats patients who have recently suffered stroke, traumatic brain injury, cranial surgery and other neurological disorders. Dr. Chauvette is one of the few optometrists in the area that is Board-certified to provide vision therapy to assist individuals struggling with tracking disorders, eye teaming disorders, focusing disorders and/or visual perceptual dysfunction.
Donna Simonian, O.D.
Dr. Donna Simonian completed a residency in pediatrics and vision therapy at the Southern California College of Optometry. She received her Doctor of Optometry degree from University of California, Berkeley School of Optometry and holds a BS in psychology and a BS in Biochemistry from the University of California, San Diego. She specializes in pediatric care including evaluating and treating special populations such those on the autism spectrum, those with learning disabilities who are struggling with academics, treating adults and children with strabismus and amblyopia (lazy eye), eye tracking concerns and the fitting of pediatric contact lenses. She also has special training in the area of neuro-optometry for examination and treatment of adults and children recovering form a stroke or traumatic brain injury.
Dr. Simonian is a member of the American Academy of Optometry, the College of Optometry in Vision Development, and the NH Optometric Association. She is a co-author of a study published in 2007 Investigative Ophthalmology and Visual Science Journal entitled: "Variation of Vertical Fusional Vergence Amplitude with Horizontal Vergence". She was a clinical instructor a the Southern California College of Optometry in the area of pediatrics and vision therapy.
